Client: Southern Water
Project Name: Newhaven WTW Aeration Tanks Access
Date: Mar 26 – ongoing
Scope of Works: Browne’s designed and installed a suspended access scaffold system within a live wastewater treatment facility, requiring safe access into aeration tanks via beam-supported structures fixed from existing gantries. (Confined Space/Water Interface)
Challenges: The works involved confined space access, complex geometry, and proximity to water, requiring enhanced safety controls, including fall arrest systems, rescue planning, and strict permit-to-work procedures.
Outcome: All works were delivered safely within a high-risk operational environment, maintaining full functionality of the treatment process. Browne’s approach ensured zero disruption to critical infrastructure, with all access requirements met efficiently and safely.
