Our History
Browne’s Scaffolding Ltd was founded by husband-and-wife team David and Lorraine Browne over 20 years ago, starting from small beginnings in South Ashford, Kent. In the early days, the focus was mainly on residential jobs, helping local trades gain safe, reliable access to their work.
But word quickly spread. Browne’s reputation for delivering on promises, on time and on budget soon led to larger commercial and industrial projects.
Always Improving
Early contracts with Blue Hammer and Southern Water helped propel the business beyond Kent, driving the need for a bigger team and new offices near Bethersden.
As the company grew, so did its commitment to quality and safety. Browne’s invested in in-house expertise, appointing a dedicated HSEQ Manager and securing all major industry accreditations. This professionalism reinforced what had always been central to the company’s values of integrity, people and always improve.
Growth into Europe
Twelve years ago, Browne’s took its first steps into Europe, supporting data centre construction projects in Paris, France. By 2022, work had expanded into Germany, and with growing demand, David and Lorraine began plans for a permanent European base. In 2025, those plans became reality with the official launch of Browne’s Gerüstbau GmbH, headquartered near Frankfurt.
Now approaching its 20th anniversary in 2026, still owner-operated Browne’s continues to build on its founding values with a 3-step approach to all projects big and small. We Collaborate, Care and Deliver solutions across the UK and Europe with the same care and commitment that started it all.
