Health, Safety & Wellbeing

At Browne’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing isn’t a requirement, it’s a responsibility.

Work Safe | Home Safe

At Browne’s Scaffolding, Caring for our People is the very core of our values and our approach to work. To us Health and Safety isn’t just a box to tick, it’s embedded in the foundation of everything we do. From the moment our boots hit the ground to the final dismantlement, we work to the highest standards to protect our team, our partners and the public.

We believe that safe sites are successful sites, and we’re proud of our culture of care, communication and continuous improvement. One that’s earned us consistent recognition from clients and contractors across the UK and Europe.

  • We care that everyone goes home safe. Every decision we make starts with that goal in mind, no exceptions.
  • Training is constant. From apprentices to site leads to the senior management team, we offer continuous training, toolbox talks, client-led safety inductions and refreshers.
  • We’re accredited. As proud members of NASC, we hold ourselves to the highest standards and currently hold a 100% Achilles UVBD audit score, covering health, safety, and wellbeing.

We lead by example. As well as presenting regularly at main contractors’ H&S Weeks, we also deliver harness inspection training to our partners and subcontractors to help raise standards across the industry.

Our HSEQ Manager, Gordon Davies giving some hands-on instruction to other trades working on a Frankfurt (FRA) site. The aim: How to recognise what safety features are missing from the demonstration set-up at the Mercury Engineering Health & Safety Week.

Award-Winning Safety

And we don’t just talk about safety. We’re recognised for it.

At the start of 2025 Browne’s received six Health & Safety Awards in just a 2-month period from some of the largest and most demanding construction sites in the data centre construction sector.

Training & Shared Responsibility

At Browne’s every job has the appropriately trained employee for the relevant project. So, whilst 100% of our workforce has CISRs certification we also have teams that are trained in Confined Space, EUSR, IPAF, esits, Supervisor and Inspections, Layer and First Aid.

We also believe in lifting the whole industry, not just our own standards. That’s why we regularly offer health and safety training to our partners and subcontractors including practical workshops like Harness Inspection Courses and Access Briefings.

When one team improves, we all benefit.

Wellbeing & Mental Health

Health & Safety doesn’t stop at hard hats, safety glasses, gloves and capped shoes. We take the mental health and wellbeing of our team just as seriously.

Whether through peer support, open-door policies or our involvement in client-led wellbeing initiatives, we aim to build not just strong structures, but strong teams.
