Employee Certifications

Construction Industry Scaffolders Record scheme.

Part 1

This entails taking a CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and one of the following:

  • 1. CISRS Operatives Training Scheme (COTS) Course
  • 2. 2 week Scaffold Induction Course
  • 3. Part 1 and also completing an application form endorsed by your employer.

This initial card lasts 18 months and within this time frame the operative must commence their formal training and complete a minimum of CISRS Part 1 Course (2 weeks off site training at a CISRS approved provider).

This will allow the operative to apply for a 2nd Trainee card which will last a further 18 months in which time the operative must complete their CISRS Part 2 (2 weeks off site training at a CISRS approved provider) the Level 2 Access and Rigging Operations S/NVQ and a CISRS 1-day Skills Test.

Part 2

When the operative has completed all of the above and have a current CITB Health, Safety and Environment test they are entitled to apply for his CISRS Scaffolder card.


Once the operative has held their Scaffolder card for a 12 month period, they will then attend their Advanced course (weeks off site training at a CISRS approved provider), complete their Level 3 Access and Rigging Operations S/NVQ, pass the CISRS 2-day Skills Test, complete a further CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and can then apply for their Advanced card.

Level 2 – Working in Medium Risk Confined Spaces.

High Risk Confined Space Training

City & Guilds 6105-03.

Level 2 – Working in High Risk Confined Spaces.

SSSTS - Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme

This two-day course introduces Site Supervisors to their legal responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.

SMSTS - Site Management Safety Training Scheme

This is a five-day course which provides project managers, site managers and supervisors, business proprietors and client-based personnel with the knowledge and skills to enable them to ensure healthy and safe conditions for construction site employees.

National Water Hygiene Card

Any person working on a restricted operations sites such as service reservoirs, pumping stations, treatment works, wells, spring and boreholes and working on the network of water mains and service pipes must be in possession of a National Water Hygiene card.

The same training package is delivered to both direct employees of water companies, and all contractors that work on the restricted operations sites including self-lay organisations working on new developments.

Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work

This accredited qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982.
